  • SB has but one place that features jazz and folk: SOhO Restaurant & Music Club .They have decent food if you want to eat before/during a performance.

The Met: Live in HD

  • The Metropolitan Opera broadcasts HD simulcasts of Saturday matinee performances to local theaters all over the world. In this area, they are shown at the historic Arlington Theater in downtown SB and, in a smaller venue at Hahn Hall at the Music Academy of the West in Montecito, which has the 2012 season brochure (pdf) online. (They are rebroadcast on Sunday afternoons but only shown at the Music Academy.) At the Arlington, there are always plenty of seats, so reservations are not required. Occasionally, Hahn Hall is sold out, so check before you go.
